NOLA FW: Brennan Manuel, Andrea Loest

THESE SHORTS! by Amanda deLeon, Anthropologie sweater and tights,
Modcloth booties, Urban Outfitters necklace and Falling Whistle

Um, can we talk about these shorts for a minute? Or as I dubbed them, SEQUIN PANTIES, Y'ALL. I've been adoring these since Amanda deLeon's fall show in the spring, and have even styled a shoot with them, so when I finally had the chance to wear them (and something of Amanda's, for that matter), I was giddy (see photo #2 above!) I was literally dancing all night- most of the time just awkwardly moving my hips to make disco ball effects on the floor. Judge me. Anyway, this ensem was my last of the mixed prints for the week (yeah, sequin is a print), worn for Friday night of New Orleans Fashion Week. Friday's schedule boasted Haute Chocolate, Brennan Manuel, Fair Fit and Andrea Loest. Unfortunately I was only able to snap shots of Brennan Manuel and Andrea Loest, but be sure to check those albums on NOLA FW's Facebook albums. With no further ado..

Brennan Manuel

Brennan never fails to deliver clean and forward menswear. I wish all Nola dudes strutted this style.

I was FLOORED by Andrea's collection. It may look simple to some eyes, but these pieces are 100% one-of-a-kind works of art. The fabric is hand dyed and bleached to create those interesting textures and patterns, and I won't even start on the quilting, cut-outs and fabric layering. I adore NOLA FW for giving platforms to all of these extremely talented designers. Props.
